2016

2016 was a very good year in my eyes. A lot of good things happened that year for me like getting a new game system, meeting new friends, all funny memes that came out that year, but the thing that most reminds me of that year was Pokémon go. Pokémon Go was such a different game compared to all other mobile games in the fact you actually have to go outside to play it. I remember the times where I forced one of my parents to go to the church just because I wanted to go and get a poke-stop. Every time I would go out, I would have to bring my tablet so I could catch some Pokémon. This game, despite being a game, actually forces me to go outside instead of keeping me inside all day. This game also got me into going to parks again since a lot of Pokémon would be constructed in parks. I also remember all the stories that came out of this game from the news like the crowds of Pokémon, crowding into one area just to get one Pokémon like the one in central park where thousands of people came to catch a Vaporeon. I also remember the horror stories that came out of this game like one where people stumbled across a dead body right in front of their feet when they played the game. These kinds of things do make sense because statistically the more people being outside the much higher chance of these kinds of events happening. Something that I learned just a few days ago is that people still play this game, in fact it came from a funny story I read that two police officers got fired for playing Pokémon during robbery and refused to appeal just to catch Snorlax. I would love to play the game again just for nostalgia, but the thing is I lost all the data I had on the game, so this game will always be remembered as one of the things that make 2016 that much more fun than it already was.
